Research Overview

MOTS-c (mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type-c) is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded by a short open reading frame in mitochondrial DNA. Studies in mice and limited human exercise studies suggest roles in insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, and exercise adaptation via AMPK signaling. MOTS-c is an investigational research peptide with no approved therapeutic use.

Laboratory Storage & Handling

For laboratory/research material only. Store lyophilized material desiccated at -20°C, protected from light and moisture. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Handle using appropriate laboratory PPE and follow institutional SOPs. Not for human administration, reconstitution for human use, or diagnostic use.
