Research Overview
Gonadorelin is the synthetic form of endogenous gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), a decapeptide that stimulates pituitary LH and FSH release. It has been used clinically for GnRH stimulation testing in the differential diagnosis of pubertal disorders (triptorelin is now often used as an alternative). A branded gonadorelin product (Factrel) has been discontinued and, per recent sources, no FDA-approved gonadorelin product is currently marketed in the US.
