Research Overview

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide derived from a sequence identified in human gastric juice. The published literature is dominated by preclinical and animal studies reporting effects on tendon, ligament, muscle, and mucosal healing, with limited human clinical evidence. Mechanistic findings come primarily from rodent models. BPC-157 is not an approved drug; human efficacy and safety are not established.
