Research Overview

ARA-290 (cibinetide) is a peptide engineered from the tertiary structure of erythropoietin that is reported to activate the innate repair receptor without stimulating erythropoiesis. Phase II trials in sarcoidosis-associated small fiber neuropathy reported reductions in neuropathic pain symptoms, and a small trial in type 2 diabetes reported improved metabolic markers and neuropathy symptoms. As of the most recent registries, no active clinical trials and no regulatory approval for ARA-290 / cibinetide were identified.
